iwriter feat

I writer has benefited a lot of Kenyan youth by introducing a relatively new form of self-employment. Apart from writing articles, those individuals with the entrepreneur’s gene in their DNAs earn tidy profits selling I writer Premium, Elite and Elite plus accounts.

Let me share a true story of how one of my friends, an upcoming article writer almost bought a dubious Premium account.

An enthusiastic article writer focused on excellence
Dennis Odhiambo joined I writer in February 2015. He entered the scene with a bang and burnt the midnight oil on a daily basis. As time went by, assignments, term papers and a demanding day job filled his in-tray rapidly.

Dennis decided to shelve article writing for three months then resumed in June. His three month hiatus from article writing had watered down his writing skills. Dennis realized he struggled submitting articles on time and he had major problems with typos. Slowly, his fiery enthusiasm waned with each rejected article.

Are your article ratings on the decline?
Are your article ratings on the decline?

The more he wrote the lower his ratings sunk. It sucks doesn’t it?

Exit enthusiasm, enter frustration
Albert Einstein defined insanity as repeating the same thing over and over while hoping for a different result. Dennis was tired of getting the same results everyday. He almost gave up until he happened to spot what had eluded him for months on Article Writers Kenya’s Facebook group.

He saw an opportunity and seized it instantly. At that point all rational judgement was cast aside. Finally, a ray of hope reignited the embers of his former zeal for writing.
What he believed to be a heaven-sent stepping stone was an advert for an I writer premium account for sale. All he had to do was inbox the seller and ‘invest’ six thousand shillings. He immediately contacted the seller and they agreed to meet outside Kenya Archives, Nairobi’s second most popular meeting point.
As he prepared himself for the deal, something else happened. It was least expected at the time but he was thankful afterwards. Doubt began clouding his excitement. ” Is this premium account really genuine?” A question popped in his mind. Dennis decided to reach out to me for advice.

When the deal is too good…
The first thing I advised him to do was ask for the account’s screenshots in order to confirm the ratings. After a couple of hours, Dennis received the screenshots then sent them to me. The first red flag I spotted left me speechless.

See it for yourself.

What makes such con artists thrive in their shameful endeavors?
ignorance
1. They take advantage of buyer’s ignorance -Sometimes, Hard work is tiring and boring isn’t it? We would rather take the easier route to higher iwriter levels any day of the week. Several buyers who want head starts in iwriter often turn to account purchasing as the first and last option. A significant portion do not know how to tell a genuine I writer premium account from a fake one.

The greatest mistake they make knowingly or unknowingly is not requesting for advice from experienced article writers before parting with their money.

2. Easy entry and exit into writers’ Facebook groups – Have you ever come across a con alert post in one of the various Kenyan online writers’ groups? Have you ever witnessed the culprit face disciplinary action from group admins?
I have seen Admins expel dishonest traders only for them to make a sly comeback through dubious Facebook accounts within a few weeks. Aren’t the admins doing their job of ensuring their members’ safety? I am not bashing anyone.

Infact,No one is to blame here.

A conman can have about 4 fake accounts registered as different members in a writers’ online social media group. In the event a conned victim sounds the alarm on him or her and the responsible group administrator expells the con, the sneaky bastard remains present though under a different name and possibly gender.
3. A common little demon called Impatience – Rome wasn’t built in a day. The rise to Premium and Elite level requires time and patience. The truth is not every article writer is patient enough to wait for their promotion. Some want it as soon as yesterday!

Just like alcohol, impatience can easily impair one’s judgement. Impatience leads to desperation hence one becomes an easy target for coins on the prowl. The second mistake desperate article writers commit is rushing for big accounts yet they lack necessary writing skills required to attain and maintain high ratings.

peer preesure
4. Negative peer pressure – You might be wondering what peer pressure has to do with account buying. You’ll be surprised because it a powerful yet often overlooked factor. How does it work?

Let me break it down for you.
A majority of budding online article writers learned about I writer through friends, right? I won’t be wrong when I state that friends influence each others decision making whether consciously or subconsciously.
Now, imagine a tightly knit group of ten campus friends who have just heard about a comrade’s decision to purchase a Premium or Elite account. Two things can happen after the comrade shares news of his recent investment with his buddies.
1. Those who have never heard about I writer will be interested in joining.
2. Fellow newbies will most likely purchase accounts because they trust their friend’s decision.

Novice online article writers will easily fall prey due to insufficient industry knowledge. If the comrade who shared news of his account purchase never sought advice, then his friends are most likely to follow suit.

How can I detect a fake account?

Stay vigilant or else you will loose your hard earned cash!
Stay vigilant or else you will loose your hard earned cash!

1. Insist on checking iwriter registration email – This is the first email one receives after successfully opening an I writer account. Once you see this email from a seller, it will reveal the account’s duration of existence. I recommend purchasing Premium or Elite accounts that have been in existence for at least 6 months.
2. Examine frequent requesters – It is possible that a seller is trying to sell you an I writer account with irregular ratings and reviews. Does the requester only send jobs exclusively to one particular writer? If the answer is yes then run and don’t look back.
